On the afternoon of June 10, 2020, at the invitation of Dr. Wang, head of scintillation ceramic products of iRay New Materials (hereinafter referred to as our company), the deputy director of the Transparent Ceramics Research Center of the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the leader of the transparent and optical functional ceramics research team Professor Li Jiang and relevant personnel of the research team came to our company to visit and communicate. The company's general manager Mr. Liu, technical director Dr. Sun and the company's relevant R&D personnel participated in the exchange. This exchange mainly involves the development and application of new scintillation materials, combining the characteristics of both parties to achieve complementary advantages and solve the stuck problem in the field of high-end radiation detection.
Professor Li Jiang gave an excellent report on the development and application of transparent and optically functional ceramics in Conference Room 105, detailing the history and development of laser ceramics, fluorescent ceramics, magneto-optical ceramics, scintillation ceramics and window materials in the "transparent ceramic family". The relevant research results of the research group were displayed, which aroused great interest among the participants and launched a lively discussion. Mr. Liu, the general manager of the company, expressed his warm welcome to Professor Li Jiang and introduced the development history of iRay new materials and the future development direction of the company. iRay New Materials was established in 2017. In more than two years, it has developed and industrialized a variety of scintillation materials and line array detector products and other core components, including cesium iodide crystals, cadmium tungstate crystals, GOS scintillation ceramics and LDA Products such as linear array detectors have entered the market one after another and have been widely recognized by customers in fields such as security, food testing, industry, and non-destructive testing.
Professor Li Jiang believes that iRay has strong advantages in the industrialization of scintillation materials, back-end detector applications and market promotion, which are not available in current research institutes. The Institute of Ceramics and Li Jiang's team have more significant advantages in cutting-edge research on scintillation materials and in-depth theoretical research and optimized design. If both parties can find points of cooperation, they can achieve a win-win situation and promote the localization process of related domestic products. The scintillating ceramic project developed by it is highly complementary to our company's products and fully conforms to the policy direction of integration of industry, academia, research and enterprises. The two parties have signed an industry-university-research cooperation agreement in 2019 and a technical cooperation agreement in 2020.
After the meeting, Professor Li Jiang’s team visited our company’s product exhibition hall, various scintillation material production workshops, and modern detector assembly lines. They praised our company’s industrialization achievements in a short period of time and took photos with the participants. We are nostalgic and look forward to more in-depth cooperation between the two parties.
